Description

I guess I can call this a ref right? eh.

I sketched up a few other designs and decided to stick with the one I posted a few days ago. I based most of their design off killer whales, hector's dolphin, and the common dolphin.

ps. this is really messy please forgive me

Some info:

Like Dominatri, the Brachialcetus lacks eyes and uses specialized head organs to find their way around and communicate with each other.

Difference between males and females:
-Males have a boxier head than females, an extinction to the upper part of their pectoral fin, and a tall dorsal fin that sticks upwards. Sometimes dorsal fins on males may be slanted forward or swept backwards, some may also have a wavy trailing edge on their fin. Males will have a darker tint over their bodies compared to the females and may be more vibrant in color.
-Females have a rounded head, no extension to the pectoral fin, and a short curved dorsal fin.

Ecotypes:
Definition: a distinct form or race of a plant or animal species occupying a particular habitat.
-Resident:
-Feed exclusively on coastal fish
-Live in pods of 5-50

-Transient:
-Feed on large marine creatures
-Live in pods of 5-20
-Usually bigger than the resident type

-Offshore:
-Feed on large ocean fish and squid like creatures
-Live in pods of 20-80

Behavior:
-These guys are curious creatures, they share the same type of vocalizations Dominatri do. Similar to the dialect difference in each Dominatri troop, Brachialcetus's can't understand Dominatri language. Brachialcetus's are very intelligent as well, something they do share closely with Dominatri.
-Again similar to Dominatri troops, Brachialcetus pods have a distinct dialect that distinguishes them from each other.
-Brachialcetus's only eat what they are taught to eat. So, lets say a human was floating in the ocean, A brachialcetus wouldn't come up and devour them because they were not taught to eat a human being, same goes for a Dominatri.
-Once again, similar to Dominatri and dolphins, Brachialcetus's live in tightly knit family groups called pods.

Extra info:
-Brachialcetus's give birth to live young and nurse their young like Dominatri.
-These guys are basically the experts at navigating around the ocean.

Sorry that my writing is all over the place ;^;

enjoy!

I like the parallel between transient and resident Orca Whales.
